Rooflights for renovation of 544 houses in Albertslund, Copenhagen, Denmark

VITRAL has secured an order to supply replacement roofglazing over the phased 18 months refurbishment of 544 houses in the Albertslund district of Copenhagen. Main contractor MT Højgaard A/S is one of Denmark’s largest construction companies and chose VITRAL out of a short list of 6 suppliers tendering for this significant 1600 panel contract.

Energy efficiency and well-being were the driving forces for the refurbishment of the dated town houses which suffered from poor insulation and inadequate ventilation. VITRAL roofglazing was chosen because it fulfilled the brief with the A74 thermally broken Aluminium panel system which provides superior U-values and cost effective integral opening vents.

VITRAL opening panels do not require any additional bulky framing which meant that the desired slender contemporary appearance could be achieved as well as future proofing the estate with significant improvements to the insulation and fresh air supply.

The goal of the regeneration initiative is to make the area more attractive by improving the physical and social environment, sustain its residential appeal and accommodate planned growth.
